Don't Mind Me

It has been one interesting weekend ladies and gents... But, extremely fun to say the least. Last night our very own Rilly Guilty and our buddy Mr. Truspin killed it at vinyl here in Montreal (which apparently they did the night before at the W as well). Anyways, congratulations guys.

To get on some music shit, trolling around the internt this past week, I came across the Gaetan remix of Bryan Cox's "Where You At?". Let me get this in quick: it bangs. Bryan Cox is a DJ/Producer from Manhattan who seems to be building a reputation for himself on the international scene with his heavy synth and bass laden tracks.

Trouble and Bass are a New York crew who specialize in Bass remixes, fully inspired by the English style. One of their members, Starkey has taken his game to a different level and has put out a whole series of his famous "Street Bass" remixes. This is his remix of Izz Thizz's "Gas Skrape".

Now, I am a huge fan of the music coming from the bay area, especially the music being made by Charlie Hustle himself, Mr. E-40. I came across his new track with Karizma Kaze this week and was pretty much blown away. The beat is so heavy that it is almost impossible to keep your head from bobbing, hard. E-40 comes with his standard swaggerous delivery and Kaze makes a good showing as well.

Not quite E, Trouble & Bass is a crew from NY but are inspired by UK Bass music. Starkey is somehow affiliated with T&B but he's actually from Philly. Good post though.

By the way, I wanna that Calvin Harris vs Pase Rock mash up you were telling me about.
